Homecoming is a time of celebration for everyone associated with the Capstone. As partners in our community, there are several ways that you can connect to the UA Homecoming spirit and experience!
UA Students and Student Organizations
Get involved in Homecoming by competing with a team or helping plan one of UA’s most cherished traditions.
Compete in a Division
The UA Student Homecoming Board offers two Homecoming divisions: the Crimson Division and the Tide Division.
The Crimson Division is open to any student organization or group of student organizations at UA. Teams participate in 10 or more events. The top team will be awarded the Kathleen Cramer Cup at halftime of the Homecoming game.
The Tide Division does not require membership in a student organization and is ideal for groups of students who wish to compete in fewer events. The top team will be awarded the Tide Trophy at the pep rally on Friday evening of Homecoming week.
Serve on the Committee
Want to make a lasting impact on one of the University of Alabama’s most celebrated traditions? All students are welcome to apply to serve on the Homecoming Committee and help create experiences to bring our entire campus together. Whether you’re passionate about event planning, marketing, community service or student engagement, there’s a place for you to make your mark.
Applications opened Wednesday, Aug. 26 and will close on Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 11:59 p.m. CST.
Faculty, Staff and Departments
As a faculty/staff member or UA department, there are several ways that you can connect to the Homecoming spirit.
We encourage departments to participate in the Roll Tide Run as teams and attend all community homecoming events. In addition to participating in these fun events, we encourage faculty and staff to experience the Homecoming parade, step show and choreography contest with family and loved ones.

Local Businesses and Schools
Are you a local business or school that would like to participate in the Homecoming Experience at The University of Alabama? The parade is a great way for local businesses and schools to participate in the Homecoming experience with a float, car, walking group or band/performance group.
In the spirit of connecting the UA campus to the Tuscaloosa/Northport community, we invite your business or school to partake in Paint The Town Red. Student organizations that are vying for the Kathleen Cramer Cup or Tide Trophy bragging rights are assigned to paint Homecoming-themed murals on local business/school windows. Participants are recognized as part of Homecoming week and receive free window cleaning after the event. If you want to show your UA pride, participate in this great opportunity to showcase our student art and to be a part of the homecoming action!
